So its been almost a month since i updated this thing, but i still don't have much to say.  Life was stale what with the mundane activities of attending college, doing homework, and chores at home.  I have tried to bring back my joie de vivre by taking more interest in perfecting my violin playing skills.  I listen to a lot of classical music these days, not that i was ever averse to it.  But now, i pay more attention to the theoretical aspects of the music while listening.  I loooooove all stringed instruments, but mandolin has become my favorite, so i decided to have a song that i particularly like, on my site.  If you'd rather listen to the usual songs that i had before, and not the mandolin, then please don't hesitate to tell me so.  Also, if you'd like to hear more carnatic classical mandolin songs, ask me...i have plenty of them.

I am going to be performing for a temple fest, so i've been teaching some kids a few songs as well. I have also started playing tennis, because i bought a Federer racquet, and its more fun to play with it, as it is light, and i can serve better.  My cousin from India is going to come here to study on the 13th.  Hopefully, she'll show as much interest in tennis and ping-pong as i do. I've been working out vigourously since two days, waking up early and attending more to lawncare.  I hope i can keep up this routine, atleast until i see slight results.  I have no determination when it comes to exercising or practicing the violin.  But my creme puff (hehe) has sort of inspired me to play the violin more, so that i may someday play fusion with him.  I have ambitions to form a group that plays fusion music. I really can't concentrate much on it though, with college and other things, which is why im planning to go to India in December and stay there till August and get intensive training, but my brother says that i HAVE to finish my bachelors in 4 years.  With a semester off, that's impossible.  But i dont' care if it takes me 5 or 6 years to complete my degree.  I now care more about music than a degree in business. I still have hopes to start my own recording studio, maybe with a partner. I really want to go to India when the weather will be nice.  I feel so bad for the Mumbaites.  I can only hope and pray that this sort of thing never happens again.

Inside the Lincoln memorial

We took this from the Lincoln memorial.  Look how the Washington monument, the WWII memorial, and the Capitol are all in one line.

The new Air and Space Museum

A Pakistani truck in display at the folklife festival

Inside the Museum of Natural History

This was in a section for gems in the museum of natural history.

I came back from Virginia today.  I didn't want to come back, because i loved it so much at my relatives place.  We went to d.c. one day, in the metro. I had tons of fun.  We've been there three times, so we didn't see the White House and all those monuments this time.  We just went to the Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Folklife festival. We've already seen all the other museums, so we didn't want to spend time in those. It being the July 4th weekend, d.c. saw a lot of crowd from all over the world i guess, because i heard many different languages around me.  There wasn't as much diversity among the girls though.  All of them wearing those tiered mini skirts that are in vogue right now.  I was like, if i see one more girl wearing that skirt, im going to scream.  I also love the greenery there.  That was one thing that made me not want to come back to Indy, because its so bare here.  I think all east coast cities are charming like that.  I've decided that if i plan on staying in the U.S., i'll live in the east.  I don't care how bad the weather is.

Master: What is the Light for you?

Disciple: By day the sun, by night a lamp.

M: What is the light that perceives the light?

D: The eye.

M: What is the light that illuminates the eye?

D: That light is the intellect.

M:  What is the light that knows the intellect?

D:  The "I".

M:  You are (therefore) the supreme Light of (all) lights.
